Tarik Kentouche

Tarik Kentouche is an interdisciplinary artist and curator based in Berlin. As a studio artist, his primary artistic discourse is sculpture, rooted in a preoccupation with problems of objecthood-the interactions between an artwork’s autonomy, its signifying potential, and the encounters it generates. His sculptural works cross-wire these terms in dynamic ways—the timeless becomes ephemeral; the ready-made becomes laboriously handmade. Kentouche’s work is also a reflection on the expectations and stereotypes projected onto “The Artist” as a bearer of culture.
